Bank Of America: Stop Assisting Illegals!

Background:
Last year Bank of America started testing a program that would provide credit cards to individuals (usually illegal immigrants) that had no Social Security number or verifiable credit. The only condition was that they needed to maintain a checking account for at least 3 months, with no overdrafts.

After testing in 5 L.A. area branches, the program was expanded to 51 branches in early February, 2007. Bank of America expects to release this program nation-wide by the end of the year.

The Petition States:
I am appalled by Bank of America putting its financial gain above the best interest of the United States by aiding illegal aliens. I oppose any program that gives illegal aliens access to checking accounts, credit cards and other Bank of America services.

I hereby request Bank of America and any of it's known affiliates cease its current program and any program that gives people illegally in the United States access to banking services, including checking accounts and credit cards. Bank of America has a moral responsibility to not put its own financial benefit above the laws of the United States of America.
